The Dubai Airshow ends today with organisers saying that deals signed at the event have so far totalled $13bn. As expected, few deals have been signed by Middle East carriers, which already have large order books, but defence and maintenance spending, as well as international deals, have helped to support order books.

Despite orders topping $13bn, Middle East carriers were for the most part silent at the 2009 Dubai Airshow as most of the orders at this year's event were made by airlines from outside the region.

Our client is a consulting engineering firm currently working on a major airport project in Oman. The airport project has recently kicked off and is a greenfield site at the moment. Our client is currently working on the infrastructure aspects including highways, roads, taxiway and hangars. It will be another 24 months before it reaches the terminal construction stage.
