Dubai Airshow Day 4 - Wednesday 18th November 2009

On the fourth day of the Dubai Airshow organisers announced that bookings at the event had topped the $10bn mark, with one more full day to go. Low-cost carrier Flydubai also announced that it would be adding a new route to its services, with flights to Bahrain scheduled to be rolled out before year's end.
 
 
Flydubai increases destinations

Low-cost carrier Flydubai has announced that it is expanding its route network to Bahrain, marking the carrier's second destination in the GCC and tenth overall. The double daily service will begin on December 13, the airline's CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said today at the Dubai Airshow, and ticket prices will begin at Dhs250 one way.

Dubai Airshow 2009 onsite order book tops $10bn


The onsite order book at Dubai Airshow 2009, the 11th and largest in the biennial series, has risen to $10.5bn after the UAE signed aircraft orders with Sweden's Saab and Switzerland's Pilatus, while low-cost carrier EasyJet renewed a maintenance co-operation agreement with Switzerland's SR Technics.
