The e-commerce contribution to the Gulf high-end market is expected to reach $1.5bn by 2020-21, as per Chalhoub Group. With some of the world's highest levels of GDP per capita and average smartphone penetration at over 65 percent, it is of utmost interest to see how luxury brands will make full out of omnichannel approach.

According to reports by AT Kearney, the GCC's e-commerce sector will be worth around $20bn by 2020. Owing to its multipronged approach, it is clearly giving an alternative to region's brick-and-mortar retailers. Moreover, with the rise of a new brigade new consumers, whose tastes and preferences are driven by latest technology solutions, local retailers are trying to harness big data and analytics to optimum levels to ensure higher returns.
